We work closely with NHS Wales, but we are an independent charity. We see clients on a broad range of issues including:-
• Anxiety/panic attacks
• Separation and loss
• Parent/Child conflict
• Family violence
• Eating disorders
• Sexual abuse
• Interpersonal relationships
• Substance misuse
This list is not exhaustive. We treat every client as a unique individual with issues specific to them.
We have over 30 volunteer Counsellors (all professionally qualified, DBS checked and members of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) or UK Counselling and Psychotherapy (UKCP). Because of the number of Counsellors we have a broad range of expertise.
We try to keep paperwork to a minimum and have very strict rules regarding client confidentiality. We do not share any client information with any other organisations, including the NHS, as our underlying ethos is that clients must be able to come and talk at Tŷ Elis in complete confidence. The only exceptions to this are if a Counsellor or Psychotherapist is subpoenaed to give evidence in court, the Mental Health Act or our Vulnerable Adults Policy (which includes child protection).
